Two of AKRO’s 3 founding partners, Chuck & Brian Booth, own JCI Construction Management. JCI is a design-build and construction management firm, has been a general contractor in Ohio since 1979 and has completed projects in: Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Missouri, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Iowa, Wyoming, South Carolina and Florida.
Chuck & Brian Booth bring substantial experience and deep resources to all phases of new construction and development, including: hotels, apartments, land developments, restaurants, and office buildings. JCI also has extensive experience with renovation and remodeling of these same property types. Clients have hired JCI to step into troubled construction projects where Chuck & Brian’s skills at construction management and value engineering have salvaged a bad situation.
JCI has completed twelve hotel builds and hotel renovation projects in the past eight years, with an approximate construction value exceeding $80 million. In 2012 JCI won 3 awards from the Associated Builders and Contractors group. JCI has not required bonding for any of its hotel projects.
Brian has worked in the construction field for 27 years, with work responsibilities ranging from field supervision as a general contractor for mid-rise apartment buildings, office complexes, upscale homes, restaurant and hotel construction, shopping malls, conference centers, strip stores and medical offices. In his most recent project of note Brian was the construction manager for the 135 room Aloft Hotel in Beachwood, Ohio.
Chuck has worked in the construction field for 49 years and has completed a great number of projects in Ohio and 13 other states. Work responsibilities included working as a General Contractor for mid-rise apartment buildings, hotel construction, conference centers, offices complexes, upscale homes, restaurant construction, shopping malls, strip stores and medical offices. Chuck has “ground up” and renovation/rehabilitation experience. He has also consulted and provided expert witness testimony for attorneys and engineers on various projects.
Jim has over 27 years of broad finance and real estate experience as a principal and in an advisory capacity. He has acquired over 600,000 sf of industrial assets and has expertise in all phases of due diligence, financing, zoning, valuation, management and tenant management.
Myers is also a principal and managing director in the crisis management and advisory firm Inglewood Associates, LLC. In his work at Inglewood he has provided consulting and advisory services to banks and financial institutions for troubled real estate loans, acted as a court-appointed receiver for troubled apartment projects, condominium developments, retail and industrial facilities. He also provides crisis management and turn-around advisory services to mid-market companies.
Previous to his real estate endeavors, Jim was a commercial lender and bank examiner, and worked for the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, PNC National Bank and GE Capital.
